Tip 1: don’t check your phone: Ease your body into wakefulness. When you first wake up, your brain is switching from delta waves, which occur during deep sleep, to theta waves (think daydreaming mode), to producing alpha waves (here, you’re awake, but the brain is still not quite ready to tackle stressors and sensations of the day).
For the first thirty minutes of your day allow your brain to transition gently.
DID YOU KNOW?
STRESS HORMONES ARE NATURALLY HIGHER UPON WAKING.
Tip 2: Pray and meditate.
Don’t know what to say?
Simply and sincerely say:
“thank You.”
Since stress hormones, like cortisol, are naturally higher upon waking, use the first few minutes of your day to claim your energy.
Do this with prayer and meditation.
Tip 3: Let sunshine in
Your brain loves natural light and becomes invigorated by its presence, offering you a boost of natural energy to begin your day with.
The glorious morning sun is also great for raising Vitamin D levels.
Vitamin D is actually a hormone and it plays many roles in your health, such as raising energy levels, supporting a healthy nervous system, and boosting the immune system.
