In this blog post I’m going to share with you some brain hacks that you can use to boost your memory, focus, and creativity because who can’t benefit from making life run more smoothly?

Ever had that moment where you’re standing in your kitchen, wondering what exactly you walked in the room to accomplish? Here’s a little trick: Keep a running list in your mind of your task(s). For example, let’s pretend you’re going downstairs to grab a bottle, feed your pup, check the mail, and unload the dishwasher. Try and just remember– bottle, pup, mail, dishes. By repeating the tasks at hand, your mind is forced to focus on them. This simple hack will help you stay focused and remember why you’re there. And, bonus: It improves your memory for the future!

Another memory hack is to use visual associations. Let’s say you need to remember to call your friend. Imagine them wearing a bright red hoodie and holding a phone. This visual image will help you remember to call them later. Sounds odd, but next time, give it a try and see if it helps!

Another focus hack is to listen to instrumental music while working. Studies have shown that listening to music without lyrics can improve focus and productivity. Try some classical music or instrumental jazz to help you stay focused. I recommend a personal fave of me and my pup, Marley: Bobby Timmons.

Finally, let’s talk about creativity hacks. A great creativity hack is to brainstorm ideas without judgment. When brainstorming, go wild. Write down everything – and I mean everything. That idea about a book on meditation for babies? Jot it down. Your brain needs its playground, and there are no bad ideas here. So write down every idea that comes to mind, even if it seems silly or unrealistic. Sometimes, the most creative ideas come from thinking outside the box.

Another way to get out of a creative rut is to change your environment. Take a walk outside, go to a book shop, or work in a different room. This change of scenery can help stimulate your creativity.

So there you have it – some brain hacks that you can use to boost your memory, focus, and creativity. Give them a try and see how they work for you.
